Working at Streetbar has been a major influence on my current life.
I was brought up in Miami Florida, Born in 1956 ( Yes I'm 50...and single now) as the second of two, I rushed through my teens just to get to the Gay
part which was admitted at 19. Shortly after coming out I met Hank Morgan former partner of Dick Haskamp (the Boss) and we moved to L.A. where I
attended U.C.L.A. and we met Dick oh way back in the early 80's.
I opened an Art Supply store in the late 80's and Hank and Dick moved to Palm Springs
and opened Streetbar shortly after. I was a real estate Agent in the 90's and tired of LA, I moved to Palm Springs with Chuck Billen and we both got jobs
working for Streetbar. With the encouragement and nudging of Dick I had two very successful Art shows and also entered my work for the first time in any
competition to The Annual Palm Springs Art Show, where I won Best in Show, and first place in my category of Digital Art.
I also had the Honor of receiving
the Gloria Green Humanitarian Award along with my friends and coworkers David Farnsworth, Zane Rhys, and Max Shultz for our work on The Artwall Project a
non- profit organization that benefits The A.I.D.S. Assistance Program of Palm Springs.
Sreetbar has helped mold a new life for me and I'm happy to be
here, I work with Sonny and Max Thursdays through Sundays Happy Hour, so stop in and have a drink, say Hi and view the Art!
