David Farnsworth

I was born in Sharon, Mass on April 7, 1957 (same day, month & year as my partner, Zane). I have 7 amazing brothers and sisters. At the age of two, my parents uprooted the family and moved us across the country to Boise, Idaho. I attended grade school all the way up through college (Boise State and the Idaho State University.) My major was Theater and the Performing Arts and I spent alot of time traveling around doing summer stock and repertory theater.

I ended up in Seattle, Washington. A cattle call audition for a walk-on role changed my mind about the whole theater business, and besides I had fallen in love and knew there was no future for us if I remained a 'migrant worker.' So, I settled down in Seattle and in 1980 I went to 'Beauty College' and the Factory of Visual Arts. That is when I began pursuing my art career.

I met my current partner Zane in 1996 and we spent three years in Seattle, and after 20 years in the Pacific Northwest, we pulled up stakes and landed here in Palm Springs. We have begun our eleventh year together this year - time flies when your having fun!!!

I have worked at Streetbar for the last 6 years and I am one of four bartenders who is an active volunteer member of the STREETBAR ARTWALL PROJECT. I work Happy Hour on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 4pm to 8pm. Come in and 'cocktail darlin'!
