I was born in Commerce, Texas in 1957, the first child of a Highschool Beauty Queen and an honest-to-God Texas Cowboy. We moved around alot and along that way I was joined by a brother and a sister. My folks divorced when I was at the tender age of 10 and my Mom remarried a year later and another little boy was added to the family.
We finally ended up in Happy, Texas - "THE TOWN WITHOUT A FROWN" - and that is what it still says on the big sign as you are entering the city limits and yep - it's the same Happy Texas the movie was based upon. That is where I graduated from highschool with honors in 1975. From that point on I worked several odd jobs unitl I somehow became a 'male order bride' (LOL! A story in itself) and landed in the Golden State of California where I've been on the West Coast ever since.
I met the love of my life, David Farnsworth, while living in the Emerald City (Seattle silly, not OZ) and in 1999 we bought a home here in Palm Springs, CA where we have been ever since. I was in the antiques business for almost 20 years. My partner David and I are both artists (and, strangely enough were born on the same day, same month and same year.), I have been a bartender at Streetbar for the last 3 years and must say it has been quite an amazing adventure. We have some great patrons.
I am one of four Streetbar bartenders who are volunteer members of the STREETBAR ARTWALL PROJECT which sets up local artists with an art show at the bar. 20% of all sales from each show are donated to the AIDS ASSISTANCE PROGRAM which provides services for those living with HIV in our community.
I work Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday Happy Hour shifts from 4pm to 8pm. Stop in and say 'howdy'.
